Split is one of the most famous cities in Croatia. It boasts a truly enviable location: on the gorgeous Dalmatian coast, alongside fabulous beaches and within easy reach of the country's marvellous islands, such as Hvar, Korkula or Brac.
In the city, you can stroll along the Riva promenade, a pedestrian zone full of shops, ice cream parlours and corn-on-the-cob stands. It is also well worth visiting Diocletian's Palace or enjoying a walk around the Port or the Peristyle courtyard.
Wherever you go in Split, you'll find good restaurants offering a wide selection of fish. And to round it off, we recommend trying kroštule, a typical Dalmatian dessert.
