Helsinki is the small, modern capital of Finland. The city is surrounded by the Baltic Sea and an amazing archipelago of scenic islands.

We highly recommend a visit to Suomenlinna, a spectacular fortress built on 4 islands linked by bridges. Enjoy a coffee at one of the outdoor cafés around Senate Square and then visit Uspenski Cathedral and Temppeliaukio Church.

A stroll around Helsinki reveals Modernist buildings, shops and designer boutiques, and you can even join in some of the many cultural activities…. it's a truly unique city! It gets very cold in winter, but it's worth wrapping up warm in order to explore this fascinating city.
