Don't miss... in Vienna

Stephansdom (St Stephen’s Cathedral)

From many points in the city you’ll catch glimpses of St Stephen’s Cathedral roof. As you can see its brightly coloured tiles can be seen from afar. This cathedral has a long history as building began in the 12th Century, not being completed until the 15th. It has survived wars and reconstructions.

Hofburg

Until 1918 this was the Imperial Palace, but it is currently a space devoted to the Office of the Presidency, a conference centre, the chapel of the Vienna Boys’ Choir, the hall where the Lipizzana horses perform, and so on. As you can see, Hofburg has many spaces for you to discover!

Museums Quarter

Currently the Museums Quarter is a huge cultural complex. It is a highly interesting spot to spend a few hours in the open air or get some culture at one of its museums. A recommendation: the Museum of Modern Art (MUMOK).

Schloß Schönbrunn (Schönbrunn Palace)

This magnificent palace was the residence of the Habsburgs from the 18th Century until 1918. The palace is golden and its gardens in a Baroque style are exquisite in their beauty. Be prepared to walk for miles through this majestic palace.

Prater

This leafy park includes a popular amusement park. Get on the Giant Ferris wheel and go up, up and away to enjoy that fabulous landscape. A few films, such as Before Sunrise, used this park as a luxurious setting.
