Flights to Valencia

Valencia
Valencia can be a city of different themes: the light, the moon, fireworks, paella, flowers, festivals. These are key words to try and explain what, in reality, cannot be told with words. You have to visit and get to know Valencia to witness that ancient traditions live side-by-side with modern life. That the sea and the city are compatible. That the green of the fields can be maintained next to a modern city, making Valencia unique by both day and night. That's why Vueling flies to Valencia.

Don't miss... in Valencia

THE CITY COUNCIL

En eclectic style of construction with elements that combine Neo-Baroques and academicism styles, built at the beginning of the century over what was the old School House (Casa de la Enseñanza). Its interior emphasizes the main stairs, the Salon de Cristal (Crystal Room), the floor and the Municipal Historical Archive.

"EL CARMEN" DISTRICT

This is the oldest neighborhood of the city and is loaded with Valencian history. A lot of its primitive construction has been preserved: narrow streets, irregular blocks with stately buildings, palaces, Roman and Arabic ruins are all great attractions. Little by little the houses in this district have been converted into restaurants and now make up one of the best and most popular leisure areas of the city with its bars, sidewalk cafes and modern pubs.

CASCO ANTIGUO

This area is defined by the old path where the city walls used to be. It holds the largest concentration of monuments, most of which corresponding to Valencia's era of splendor. These are some of the most emblematic constructions of the city. The Casco Antiguo is ideal to cover its narrow streets by foot, since many of them are for pedestrians.

CITY OF ARTS AND SCIENCES

Valencia is the land of musicians, painters and scientists, a mix that explains the reason for having a City of Arts and Sciences. This is an authentic futuristic city integrated into an urban park with 350,000 m2 located in the old channel of the Turia river. It holds four impressive buildings where modernism and creativity fuse together into great visual beauty: L'hemisfèric, the Príncipe Felipe Science Museum , the Oceanographic Park and the Arts Palace (Palacio de las Artes). This architectural space dedicated to the arts and sciences includes expo rooms, laser shows and an interactive museum. Visiting it is highly recommended and its wide walkways allow you to admire and enjoy this large technological and futuristic complex.

IVAM (MODERN ART INSTITUTE OF VALENCIA)

Considered to be one of the three largest modern art museums of Spain and the heart of Valencia's modern art. This institute has the objective of investigating and diffusing art from the 20th Century and the new tendencies in this area.

ESTACIÓN DEL NORTE

This is without a doubt one of the first buildings that the tourist can find when arriving to Valencia. Located in middle of downtown, the Estación del Norte of Valencia, built between 1906 and 1917, is one of the most beautiful constructions when it comes to train architecture. Its exterior has vegetable, orange and orange blossom flower motifs, and is the symbol of its modern style, including its lobby, a combination of wood, crystal and marble, fusing warmth, transparency and brightness.
