Flights to Oviedo

Oviedo is the capital of the Principality of Asturias, a natural paradise located in northern Spain. When you visit, it will blow you away: from its beautiful beaches and coves to its cliffs and mountains. It seems like an incredible combination, but having the Cantabrian Cordillera to one side and the Cantabrian sea on the other, that’s what you’ve got.

Naturally, if you travel to Asturias we would also recommend that you visit Gijón. It’s just a stone’s throw from Oviedo and has its own special charm.

Because it’s a city wonderfully placed between the mountains and the sea, Vueling flies you there.

Don't miss... in Asturias

Picos de Europa

The Picos de Europa National Park is one of the most beautiful spots in the principality, in the country and, possibly, on the continent. It includes ravines and gorges, rivers and valleys, woods and mountains. Get into your most comfortable shoes and get set to walk through this unforgettable landscape. It’s worth it!

Covadonga Sanctuary

Santa María la Real basilica of Covadonga was built between 1877 and 1901. Its neo-Romanesque style and entire pink limestone construction make it an enormously beautiful sanctuary. You can also visit the “Santina” here, the region’s patron saint, who attracts both tourists and the faithful.

Covadonga Lakes

Heading up towards the Picos de Europa, approximately 12 km from the basilica, you’ll encounter these famous lakes. From the Mirador de la Reina [Queen’s Lookout] you can look down over the wide sweep of verdant landscape: mountains and more mountains that surround the area, sheltering these precious lakes. A great chance to disconnect and breathe in the fresh air.

Oviedo Cathedral

This Gothic treasure has decorated the town of Oviedo since the 14th Century. Its steeple, 80 metres high, can be seen from almost every corner of the city. The relics it houses make this cathedral an obligatory stop for pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago [St James’ Way].

Gijón

Coastal cottages, enchanting squares, a marvellous historic centre, parks, beaches and so on. Gijón’s streets are inimitable. You breathe tranquillity in this town, which blends its development into a privileged natural environment. Ready to stroll the streets?
