Don't miss... in Budapest

Buda Castle

This is one of the best known, emblematic features of Budapest. Historically, it has also been known as the Royal Palace, since it was the residence of the Hungarian monarchs. It is a fascinating visit. The best proof of this is that in 1987 it was declared a World Heritage Site.

Budapest Parliament

This marvellous building is one of the most representative in the Hungarian capital. It is the country’s legislative centre and its interior is decorated in marble and gold. Surprising both inside and out, especially for the fantastic perspective it offers along the banks of the river Danube.

Széchenyi Chain Bridge

This suspension bridge has spanned the Danube since 1849. It was the first bridge to link Buda and Pest. So nowadays it’s the capital’s most famous bridge. Its name derives from the fact it is hung from rigid chain links.

Heroes Square

If you feel like strolling and getting to know the city a little better, don’t miss this square. In the centre you can appreciate statues of the Ninth-Century leaders of Hungary’s seven founding tribes. Furthermore, it is bordered by interesting buildings such as the Museum of Fine Arts and the Palace of Art.

Fisherman’s Bastion

On Buda hill, on the Danube’s west bank, is the Fisherman’s Bastion. It is a Neo-Gothic and Neo-Romanesque-style lookout built by fishermen over 100 years ago. Enjoy its sweeping views. They’ll take your breath away!

Margaret Island

This island verdant with parks is situated in the middle of the Danube. Due to its vegetation it is considered the capital’s “lung” and… it is incredibly easy to reach! Just cross Árpád or Margaret bridge.
