The Recruitment Process

1. The first step is to apply online (see: www.vueling.com - Recruitment page)

2. Vueling will contact those applicants whose experience and qualifications meet our requirements within 2 weeks.

3. Suitable applicants will be invited to participate in the Vueling Recruitment Days at our Headquarters in Barcelona which take place every Tuesday and Wednesday and usually starts at 12:00. All applicants will be required to undergo and pass an Aviation knowledge and a Psychological test. After these tests candidates will be interviewed by our Recruitment Team. Feedback of the interview/tests, being it positive or negative, will be provided by phone/email within 3 days.

4. Successful applicants will be required to undergo and pass a SIM test:

  • A pre-si mula tor briefing
  • Si mula tor Assessment in a A-320 si mula tor – 45 minutes. We assess basic handling skills, CRM and flight management

5. Letter of Intentions:
Those who emerge successfully from this process will receive a Letter of Intentions offering a permanent position subject to a 2 month trial period. The offer letter is subject to satisfactorily obtaining the A320 Type Rating (for non-rated applicants) or completing the Operator Proficiency check (for type-rated applicants).

ANNEX

Operator Proficiency Check (OPC)
Vueling pays the OPC for Captains and type-rated First Officers.

Type Rating courses:
Successful non-rated applicants will have to acquire an A320 rating with a Vueling approved training organization.

General information:

  • Self-sponsored type rating training will be provided by a Vueling approved training organization. Vueling is offering TR for high experienced candidates matching the Vueling profile (see Entry Requirements) TR courses are assigned after Vueling Recruitment team assessment.

Approximate cost for the A320 Type Rating course:

  • 24.000 € for the A320 rating including the skill test
  • 2.000€ for a Jet Familiarization entry course: required for trainees with no jet experience. This will be held prior to the Type Rating and consists on 4 training days (1 day ground school + 3 simulator sessions FBS).
  • 8.000€ expected maximum cost for the base training . This cost will vary according to the time it takes to perform the training.
  • 1.000€ for ZFTT : offered to trainees matching JAR requirements and accepted by the Aviation Authority issuing the license.
