The Federico Moccia publishing phenomenon flies at 30,000 feet!

Vueling and Planeta have organised an onboard press conference to launch the novel ?Perdona si te llamo amor? to coincide with Saint Valentine?s Day.

Invited press and the lucky passengers on VY 6857 Madrid-Rome were able to enjoy a literary flight full of surprises.

Barcelona, 13 February 2008.- Vueling, the new generation airline, has collaborated with Planeta publishing house on the Spanish launch of Italian writer Federico Moccia?s latest novel, ?Perdona si te llamo amor? [Forgive Me If I Call You Love]. The company converted the passenger cabin of one of its Airbus A-320 into a stage for the presentation at a height of 30,000!

?Vueling the world?, the starring aircraft in the event, took off on Monday afternoon from Madrid-Barajas airport, destination Rome with 150 passengers onboard. Journalists invited for the occasion, as well as other passengers, were lucky to get such a literary experience among the clouds.

The crew gave a special welcome to the flight ?Perdona si te llamo amor? with the favourite music of the novel?s protagonists playing in the background. Once the flight reached cruising altitude, a presentation video on this publishing phenomenon was shown, where journalists and public could see how this fiction had become reality.

After this brief introduction, Moccia surprised all the passengers by coming out of the flight cabin to welcome everybody in person. Pleased and surprised by the healthy media turnout ? who were filming onboard ? the writer presented his book and explained his accidental meeting with success twelve years after writing his first novel. Moccia declared he was overwhelmed by this particular presentation: ?I could never have imagined giving a press conference on a plane. I had to take off, sitting in the cockpit to give you all a surprise and the truth is I don?t think I got the best deal, but it was certainly dramatic. Thank you all for coming onboard this special flight for me?. After concluding his presentation, the author spent the rest of the flight giving interviews and autographing copies of his books for passengers.

Vueling, following its innovative instinct, tries to transmit this spirit to its customers as well as offering them excellent service. Thanks to this, the company has been able to entertain its passengers with unique onboard events such as classical music concerts, fashion parades, dj sessions and theatre presentations.

Vueling and Planeta are inviting readers to participate in a competition to win a flight to the city that stars in the novel. Readers should go to www.perdonasitellamoamor.com and answer three questions. A return flight for two including accommodation and the Moccia tour can be won each month from February to June. Currently, Vueling connects Rome with the cities of Barcelona, Madrid, Seville and Valencia.

?Perdona si te llamo amor? is the story of Alessandro, a successful publicist of 37 who has just left his lifelong partner, and Niki, a young but mature and responsible 17-year-old who is in her final year at secondary school. Despite a 20-year age gap, Niki and Alessandro fall madly in love and enact a passionate love story, going against all conventions and social taboos.

Vueling carried 450,707 passengers in January, a 38.6% increase with regards to 2007

The airline reached a 58.9% average load factor

Barcelona, February 7th 2008.- Vueling, the new-generation airline, carried a total of 450,707 passengers during the month of January, which translates into a 38.6% increase with regards to the same month in 2007. Vueling reached a 58.9% average load factor, a decrease of 1.7 points in comparison to January last year.

 January
 PassengersLoad Factor
2008450.70758,9%
2007325.22760,6%
% 08/07+38,6% -1,7 pp

In keeping with what was already announced last December, Vueling has revenue per flight maximization as its main target, even though this could cause a minor reduction in load factor levels. In that regard, the increase in revenue per passenger during January 2008 has compensated the load factor?s decrease, and this has translated into a revenue per flight level which is above last year?s.
