Aircraft, our Vueling stars
The original Vueling fleet consisted of two, fresh-off-the-line Airbus A-320s that were baptised “Barceloning” and “Born to Be Vueling”. The new generation airline began to sell tickets on 16th May, 2004.
On 1st July, 2004, Barceloning took off from Barcelona for Ibiza, becoming Vueling’s first commercial flight. She carried 149 passengers. Since then we have kept adding aircraft to our fleet. At the moment we’ve got 21 (and we should have 25 by the end of 2007).
It’s Vueling’s custom to launch innovative actions that transmit that Vueling feeling. The aircraft in our fleet have had starring roles several times.
For us, customers come first. That’s why we ran competitions for our passengers to baptise planes that are opening new routes. Thanks to these initiatives our Airbus A-320s have received such original, entertaining names as “Veni, Vidi, Vueling”, “La vita è Vueling” or “Vueling Voy, Vueling Vengo”.
Two aircraft stand out – they bear the names of customers of special significance to our company: the “Eloy Fructuoso”, in recognition of our one-millionth passenger and the “Connie Baraja” commemorating our two-millionth passenger.

The Airbus A320
Currently the Vueling fleet is composed of 21 new Airbus A320 aircraft. They each have the capacity to carry 180 passengers.
The Airbus A320 incorporates the latest in technological progress, making it a safe, comfortable plane that is more respectful of the environment.
